10 Worst Things The Flash Has Ever Done

6. Ignoring A Woman's Cries For Help - The Flash #89

The Flash Resurrected
DC Comics

In a particularly unusual move, the 1989 Flash #89 comic focuses around the limitations of the speedster's powers, revolving around a court case wherein the superhero is being sued for the 'negligence' of missing a woman's cries for help in a building fire, which results in her having to have her legs amputated.

While initially sympathies are with Barry because it's presumed he didn't see the woman, we learn that the hero is significantly less innocent than we think, as the Flash later reveals he feels as though he did have time to look for her, and that, by focusing on other things, he left a woman to what could have easily been her death.

It's a unique issue, as in this moment the weight and responsibility of being a superhero becomes all too real, and the ample potential to accidentally do terrible things becomes incredibly apparent.
