10 Zany Comic Book Movies That Would Send Fans Wild
6. Deadman
DC have a number of odd supernatural heroes in their back catalog, including the Spectre and Doctor Fate, but one of the most unique characters owned by the company must be Deadman. As the name implies, Boston Brand is unusual for the simple fact that he is dead, which certainly sets him apart from the number of living heroes we currently see on the big screen. While he was alive, Deadman worked at a circus as a trapeze artist. During one of his performances, Brand was murdered, but rather than just stay dead, Brand's spirit was kept on the mortal plane in order to search for his murderer and seek justice. That in itself may not sound particularly unusual, but for some bizarre reason, Deadman's creators chose to throw a Hindu goddess named Rama Kushna into the mix. Upon Brand's death, it was Kushna who gave Brand's spirit the ability to possess any living person. As he is unable to actually touch anything in the physical world, Deadman can only communicate with the living and fight crime while in possession of a human host, which creates a lot of potential for unusual offbeat moments you would not normally find in a comic book movie. Guillermo Del Toro has confirmed that Deadman will appear as a member of the team Justice League Dark in the upcoming adaptation, but before that, fans would go wild for a solo Deadman movie, featuring the unusual hero avenging his own death.
