11 Brutal Comics Insults That Ruined Characters

1. Batman: Mad Love

Batman Mad Love Puddin
DC Comics

Although the most important thing about the Mad Love comic is its introduction of the Joker's relationship with Harley Quinn, Batman's final quip at the Joker's expense comes a very close second.

After the Clown Prince of Crime rescues Batman from a trap set by Harley Quinn, the Dark Knight raises a very good point - that the villain's sidekick would have won, had Joker not saved his own nemesis.

From here, he sets up for one final, brutal punch, by using Harley's own nickname for the Joker while telling him she is a better villain.

The sheer level of anger this provokes in the Joker makes the insult all the better, as it's clear that the Clown Prince is only mad because he knows deep down that Batman is right. When someone tries to stab you because of something you've said, you're either very wrong, or very, very right.
