11. He Became The President

After a terrorist called The Maker annihilated Washington DC and wiped out all representatives of the US government, Secretary John Howard was elected president. Desperate to end turmoil in his country, Howard made a deal with the Maker.

When the Maker was defeated, the American people realised they could no longer trust their president, and so it was put to a vote whether Howard would fulfil his term or if Captain America should take over. Cap got the major vote and was sworn in as the President of the United States.

However, Cap isn't the kind of guy who ends wars by pushing papers in board meetings. As president, Cap continued to do what he does best and kick the crap out of supervillains and terrorists.

Since he has no political experience, hundreds of foreign political figures believed they could manipulate President Rogers for their own agenda. Realising that he was uncompromisable, many government officials (including the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.) did everything they could to have him assassinated.

Cap eventually realised that corrupt politicians and dictators would never stop interfering with his duty as president. As a result, Cap relinquished his presidency, believing he could do more good as a full-time superhero.
