Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin, was a polymath, an inventor, a Freemason, a politician, and basically one of the most influential Americans in history.

Although he died 200 years ago, Franklin still finds time to appear in a Marvel story every once in a while. In the comics, he joined S.H.I.E.L.D., teamed up with Deadpool to battle Dracula, and slept with Doctor Strange's partner.

However, his most memorable moment in comics is when he encountered Cap in the story, Captain America's Bicentennial Battles. In this tale, Steve Rogers meets an Elder of the Universe called the Contemplator. This entity offers to show the United States' history to Cap from "a universal eye" and transports him through time.

As Cap ventures though history, he sees the Chicago Fire, the Great War, Nazi Germany, and the Apaches trying to win back their home from the invading Settlers.

At one point, Cap is sent to Philadelphia during the 1770s where he meets Benjamin Franklin. Franklin loves Cap’s costume so much, he sketches a flag based on it and shares it with his wife, Betsy Ross, to create what we now know as the American Flag. This story may not be historically accurate.
