An endorsement by Superman himself rings pretty loudly, and according to the Man Of Steel, Martian Manhunter "is the most powerful being on the face of the Earth." Including himself, presumably.

He comes with very similar powers to Superman, actually, including superhuman strength, durability, flight, regeneration, shape-shifting, intangibility, invisibility, telepathy, telekinesis, extrasensory input, and optic blasts. Add to that his ability to project energy blasts that can disintegrate targets and he's a hell of a combatant.

But on top of that, he also has a stunning range of mental and psychic powers that elevate him further. He can control many minds at once, manipulate memory, induce sleep (surprisingly simple and handy in battle) and create brain blasts. He's basically like a new improved version of Superman, including a reflex-like adaptability power that means he can instantaneously adapt to his enemies to defeat them.
