12 Superpowers You Didn’t Know Spider-Man Had

10. Spirit Of Vengeance

Comics can get pretty weird, but there are few weirder than the Identity Wars storyline back in 2011.

A huge explosion at Horizon Labs blasts Peter Parker, Bruce Banner and Deadpool to Earth-11638. Both Parker and Deadpool have to fight their counterparts and take their place, but Banner's remains a mystery. That is, until Parker discovers intel, revealing that Banner is this universe's Sorcerer Supreme. However, something is missing. Something big, angry and green.

Banner had been separated from the Hulk, much to his delight, but this universe hadn't granted him the blessing he had hoped for. The Hulk had ended up in hell after the explosion, switched with his infernal counterpart that Dr Bruce Banner had banished to the netherworld. Peter and the two Banners manage to pull Hulk from Hell, in order to defeat the Infernal Hulk that was terrorising the city.

Meanwhile, Earth-11638's Peter Parker was in a coma, but his spirit was placed in hell, where he made a deal with Mephisto to get a second chance at life. He fixes the interdimensional translocator, allowing everyone to return to Earth-616 and reveals himself to be the Ghost Spider. Having made the same deal as Johnny Blaze, Parker was imbued with the same powers that all Spirits of Vengeance possesses.
