12 Superpowers You Didn’t Know Spider-Man Had

9. Dimensional Travel

So, by now, we all know about the Spider-Verse. There have been multiple events in the comics and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has quickly become one of the best Spidey stories across any medium. But what you may not know is just how connected the Spider-People are to dimensional travel.

It turns out that all Spiders across every universe are connected by the Great Web. The web acts as a model of the entire multiverse and is said to give spiders everywhere their powers. This is summed up perfectly by Madame Web, who says "This is the Web of Reality. Every reality. Every possible future. I see them all, judging which is most likely to come to pass".

Spun by The Great Weaver, the web also allows for dimensional travel. This allows spiders to travel between different universes, with help from a GPS wrist device, as seen in Dan Slott's 2014 Spider-Verse event. It has been damaged and even destroyed a number of times, but the spider-totems have been able to restore it each time.

Strangely, the first real introduction to the Web of Life and Destiny was in the sublime game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. It's something that was referenced beforehand, but wasn't expanded on until Slott wrote the game's story.
