13 Fantastic Four Stories & Villains We Could See In MCU Phase 4

9. The Illuminati

Doom The Sorceror
Marvel Comics

There is a big question looming over the Fantastic Four in the MCU.

It's not about which actors are going to be cast or how Doom is going to be introduced.

The biggest question is how is Marvel Studios going to tie the FF to rest of the Marvel characters? And the answers is; adapt The Illuminati storyline.

Years ago, Tony Stark formed a group called The Illuminati to make “the big decisions”. The Illuminati works in secret because they don't want the superheroes to know that they get their hands dirty for the greater good. For example, The Illuminati took a vote and agreed to hurl the Hulk into space, believing it was only a matter of time before he turned on humanity.

The team was composed of superheroes that Stark believed covered every facet of the world; Iron Man (technology), Doctor Strange (magic), Professor X (mutantkind), Black Bolt (The Inhumans), Namor (Atlantis), and Mister Fantastic (science).

Each of the members are currently a part of the MCU or can be introduced in the future (Professor X). The only exception is Tony Stark because he's busy being dead. However, he can be substituted for Black Panther (who eventually joined The Illuminati in the comics) since, like Stark, he represents technology.

This storyline could develop the Marvel universe twofold; it can be revealed that the group has existed for years and they may have known about potential threats like Thanos or it can hint at future threats like the Kree or Galactus.

Speaking of which...
