13 Fantastic Four Stories & Villains We Could See In MCU Phase 4
6. Reboot The Inhumans
Millions of years ago, an alien race called the Kree visited our ancestors (primitive homo sapiens) and genetically altered them so they could be used as a weapon against their enemies. However, the Kree abandoned their cause and left the planet. The altered homo sapiens developed superpowers and became known as The Inhumans.
Okay, let's deal with the elephant in the room. These characters have already been adapted in the appalling 2017 series, The Inhumans. This show is the biggest failure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But just because something doesn't work doesn't mean it should be discarded. Look at how well the Daredevil Netflix series turned out compared to the 2004 film.
The Inhumans are an integral part of the Fantastic Four comics. Reed Richards has allied with the Inhumans leader, Black Bolt, many times (including in The Illuminati story which has been already been mentioned). Johnny Storm's love interest is Black Bolt's daughter, Crystal. Their introduction in the MCU films would allow them to have their own movie in the future, as Marvel Studios CEO, Kevin Feige, originally intended.
If the characters are rebooted as if the television series never happened, I don't think anyone is going to lose much sleep. Recasting the actors shouldn't be too confusing. The decision to replace Edward Norton with Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk worked out perfectly in the long-run.
