12. Stan Lee Has Written Over 862 Individual Issues For Marvel Comics

Granted this was just a rough calculation on my behalf (and doesn't account for the endless amount of books Lee edited, scripted, or was involved with in an unofficial capacity), Stan Lee has written over 862 individual comic books for Marvel alone.

That's an amazing feet no matter how you look at it, and while quantitive contribution alone doesn't give justice to the qualitative ones Lee made to the medium throughout his career, it gives us a decent idea of just how much effort he put into defining Marvel's formative years during the sixties - a process made possible by the infallible Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and countless others creators who, it must be said, aren't given as much credit as they deserve.
