14 Weirdest Comic Book Weaknesses

7. Adam Strange - Earth

Red Hulk Fire
DC Comics

One day, archeologist, Adam Strange came into contact with an energy wave called a Zeta-Beam, which transported him to the war-torn planet, Rann. The Zeta-Beam altered Adam's vision, allowing him to perceive the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Using his new abilities, Adam became a liberator of this newfound world and settled down with a wife and child.

There's just one teeny-weeny problem. The Zeta-Beam that sent Adam to Rann will, at some point, reverse itself, sending him back to Earth. And just to make it worse, he loses all his power when he returns to his homeworld.

Not only does Adam have no control over when this happens, he can't return to Rann until the Zeta-Beam synchronises with the planet. This becomes REALLY inconvenient when he's in the middle of a war or about to defeat a dictator on Rann and he's suddenly teleported to the other side of the universe.
