Although mutant powers tend to kick in during puberty, Gorgon's abilities awakened shortly after birth. His mutation amplified his strength, speed, and intelligence almost as soon as he came into the world. He was speaking at two weeks, walking at three months, and was regarded as one of the best artists in Japan at four.

Over time, he developed psychic abilities, a healing factor, and superspeed. However, his deadliest power his ability to turn anyone to stone with a single stare.

Lusting for even more power, he sought out the ninja clan, The Hand, believing he could help them conquer the world. Gorgon was so utterly devoted to the mystical organisation, he willingly killed himself, knowing the clan would resurrect him as their disciple. Acknowledging Gorgon's dedication, The Hand ordered him to kill every superhero and resurrect them as slaves. That may sound like a tall order but Gorgon is such an astounding fighter, he killed Wolverine and had him revived as an agent of The Hand.

Even though Gorgon has been killed multiple times, he has always regenerates, making him seemingly unstoppable.
