8. Gotham Central: Soft Targets
This one comes off like how the people behind HBO’s The Wire would interpret Heath Ledger’s chaotic schemes from The Dark Knight. For most of the story Joker is an infuriating offstage force, sniping Gotham’s public figures and civilians, and whipping up municipal panic.
It's an atypical career move by the Clown Prince, given that he's usually a lot closer to the action (preferring to see the emotional reactions first hand as currency), but there's definitely something of The Dark Knight's version of the character in here too. That Gotham Central was never as appreciated as it deserved to be
Artist Michael Lark’s Joker looks like the Jack Nicholson movie clown stepped off the silver screen and his knowing expressions are plain unsettling. He also beats a guy to death with a phone book, which is just too much to take.
