I remember watching The Tick's animated series as a kid, and wondering what made Arthur a superhero. I still don't know now. I mean, he's an intelligent guy, which could be put to great use in fighting crime, but his crippling absence of social skills just don't allow him to be a superhero's sidekick - not that he even wants the job. Before allying himself with The Tick, Arthur was an accountant, which perhaps speaks volumes. His biggest problem is that he has the potential to use a range of super powers that are controlled by his suit but he just doesn't know how to (he bought the suit at a yard sale with dreams of becoming a superhero, but it didn't come with any instructions). Arthur's best friend and chief confidante is a one-eyed teddy bear named Dwayne, with whom Arthur shares all of his secrets and fears. As if this wasn't sad enough, Arthur is frequently mistaken for a rabbit due to his oversized antennae and the fact that his wings are always folded up: he's actually a moth, which is possibly worse than being a rabbit.
