Cypher was a member of the X-Men whose superpower is that he is able to translate any language, or decipher any code. Now this might seem like a great superpower in wartime, when you could figure out the enemy's plans in an instant, but he would be just about useless in a fight. Unless the fight was with a Chinese instruction manual. There were moments when Cypher proved to be of some worth, such as when Warlock first came to Earth and was engaged in battle by the New Mutants. Cypher communicated with Warlock and realised that he posed no threat, saving his life. This created a strong bond between the two, leading them to team together on multiple occasions. Cypher couldn't even handle this though, and having Warlock constantly on hand to save his skin all the time just damaged his self-esteem further and further until eventually he was killed off. How could there possibly have been a superhero within the X-Men who couldn't even stand up for himself? What a total weiner!
