13. Legion Flight Rings

A product of 31st century technology, the Legion Flight Rings are the identifying markers for members of the Legion of Superheroes. Based loosely on power rings of the Green Lantern Corp, the flight rings are composed of the alien compound valorium, which Legionnaires can use to manipulate their personal gravity, survive in extremely hostile environments, and even move through space at superhuman speeds.

They also have additional, more utilitarian uses, such as being searchlights, communicators, and locator beacons. They are so useful and iconic that even former members Superman and Supergirl hang on to their old Legion rings both out of nostalgia and practicality. But the most powerful feature of the Flight Rings aren't physical, but rather metaphysical.

Since one of the Legion's most common enemies is the time-traveling villain Time-Trapper, the Flight Rings provide their user a limited defense against telepathic and time-based attacks.

As an unintended bonus, the Legionnaires have survived multiple continuity reboots despite the past of Prime Earth being rewritten to wipe them out of existence. They are, for all intents and purposes, paradox-proof. However, this doesn't come without consequences. The only Legionnaire on the current Prime Earth is Saturn Girl, who is locked in Arkham Asylum due to her insane ramblings about the future.
