15 Most Powerful DC Weapons RANKED
10. The Golden Lasso
Wonder Woman was created by Professor William Marston specifically to be a mouthpiece for his early feminist ideals. Her original arsenal included a tiara boomerang and unbreakable gauntlets, but Marston latter added a magical length of rope that would compel anyone trapped in it to become submissive. He intended for it to represent the soothing trust of feminine charm, but it was re-purposed to be an allegory for his other notable creation: the lie detector.
The Golden Lasso has a number of origins depending on the continuity, but is usually crafted by one of the Greek Gods and bestowed upon Hippolyta who then, in turn, passes it on to her daughter when she takes on the mantle of Wonder Woman.
It is magically as long as its user needs it to be, is indestructible, and constantly feeds energy into whoever holds it. Anyone caught by the lasso is compelled to tell the objective truth, briefly curing them of any illusion or insanity that might distract them from reality.
The Lasso has been known to hold down some of the most powerful beings in the DC universe with ease. It can project mystical fire, destroy Black Lanterns, and even bring the undead back to true life. It has even been hinted that anyone holding the Lasso can see into the souls of those bound by it.
