15 Worst Female Superhero Costumes

There are so many great spider-women across the Spider-Verse and most of them have awesome costumes. Silk and Spider-Gwen rock some unique suits and even Mayday Parker gets to wear a variation on her father’s suit. Yet for some reason, Jessica Drew has never looked remotely cool as Spider-Woman.

A big reason for the terrible costume is her origin. Drew was brainwashed and made to work for HYDRA in her early days. It’s likely they designed the costume, which is why it has the half-face mask and big villain vibes. It shares a lot of visual similarity with the HYDRA uniform, so you would imagine when she joined the Avengers that a costume redesign was coming. However, the costume stuck around.

Sure, there has been minor alterations in her run, but all of them still suck. The biggest change we got was thanks to the Spider-Man Unlimited video game, which was later adopted into the comics. Even then, it was the same design on a leather jacket with sunglasses.

Her woes could have been over just this year, as in January she received her third redesign. Switching from superhero to mercenary, Drew decided the old costume wouldn’t be appropriate anymore. Unfortunately, the MKIII suit was yet another disappointment.
