20 Mind-Blowing Facts About Daredevil

12. He Wasn't The First Daredevil

There are a handful of today's most popular superheroes who weren't the first to hold their name. The Flash, Green Lantern, and The Human Torch are among them, and Daredevil wasn't the first "Daredevil" either. His predecessor wasn't a Marvel creation however and instead hails from a now defunct comic publisher called Lev Gleason Publications. There's absolutely nothing to say that Stan Lee was in any way inspired by this version of Daredevil, but it's interesting to note that he too had a disability. Instead of being blind, this version of Daredevil was deaf, and he fought the Nazis before the US entered WWII, just like Captain America. He's long forgotten now though, and only Marvel's Daredevil remains.
