20 Mind Blowing Facts About Wonder Woman

16. Lynda Carter Wasn't TV's First Wonder Woman

Lynda Carter only played Wonder Woman for four years, but the 1970s TV series has taken on a cult status, with the actress still fondly remembered for playing the Amazonian Princess to this very day. However, Carter wasn't the first person to play Diana on the small screen and only actually landed the role after Cathy Lee Crosby decided to turn it down. That name probably doesn't ring a bell, but Crosby played Wonder Woman in a TV film which was intended to serve as a pilot for the TV series. Neither the story or costume were faithful to the comics books and the ratings were mediocre, so that's why another TV movie was developed a year later. Thanks to Crosby's lack of interest, Carter would take over!
