9. Hal Jordan Went Crazy And Killed Pretty Much Everyone

Another baffling storyline saw Hal Jordan (now sporting Reed Richards style grey temples) completely lose his mind after Coast City was destroyed by Cyborg Superman. Convinced that he could bring everyone back from the dead by using the power of the Green Lantern Corps, a deranged Hal went on a killing spree and ended up wearing ten rings at the same time. Fans hated Emerald Twilight, especially as Hal ended up being transformed into a full on villain known as Parallax. Geoff Johns later retconned this when it was revealed that Hal had been possessed by a fear entity just called Parallax and wasn't responsible for his actions.
