20 Most Powerful X-Men Villains Of All Time

12. John Sublime

Magneto X Men
Marvel Comics

John Sublime is (or rather was) a nasty little bugger, the head of a pharmaceutical company which was covertly selling a drug that gave humans temporary mutant powers. Which they did by slaughtering mutants and carving off bits of their brains. His U-Men were creepy enough, the superpowered commandos in their diving uniforms.

Sublime himself was the real villain, not only overseeing the U-Men's horrific activities but also partaking in them himself. During Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men he was presumed dead only to have survived far into the future, where he stole the identity of Hank McCoy and went around calling himself the White Beast.

It was there that it turned out he was an alien bacteria made flesh and, if that didn't make him powerful enough, Sublime was also in possession of a Phoenix Egg, from which the reborn spirit of fiery vengeance from beyond space would emerge and be under his control. The same Phoenix that has destroyed planets in the blink of an eye...
