One of the most oft-debated topics in nerdom is the classic "who would win in a fight?" hypotheticals. Most of the basic match ups have been discussed and reached reasonable conclusions, but there's one argument that rages eternally: Superman or Goku? The Man Of Steel is pretty formidable, but then the star of Dragonball Z is notably the most powerful being in his universe. Plus he has a monkey's tail. These conversations usually end in much the same way as this imaginary scenario would: in a stalemate. Nobody can agree. They're too evenly matched. The only real competition to either of them would be Saitama, star of the manga One-Punch Man, and boy would he be thankful for some decent opponents. The none-more-wacky premise of this Japanese comic book is that, much like Son Goku, Saitama has been training his whole life to become the most unbeatable warrior in the world. Except he overshoots it a little and ends up becoming too powerful, to the point that he can defeat pretty much any comers in just a single hit - hence the name. Whilst its hero gets frustrated at how easy and unchallenging his fights are, readers can delight in the totally insane way artist Yusuke Murata renders said battles. Literally any panel in this series could be labelled one of the most badass in the history of comics, but they work best when viewed in sequence. Seriously, some of these sequences are so well done they're essentially storyboards - in fact they work so well that people frequently edit them together into animated gifs that move totally seamlessly. And are totally badass.
