20 Worst Ever Comic Book Sidekicks

7. Beppo The Super Monkey (Superman)

First Appearance: Superboy #76 (October 1959) As if Jimmy Olsen wasn't annoying enough, Superman also had to put up with the Legion of Super-Pets, who consisted of Krypto the Super Dog, Streaky the Super Cat, Comet the Super Horse and Beppo the Super Monkey. It was hard to choose only one of these creatively named pets to make this list but ultimately, I had to go with the super simian who hitched a ride on the rocket that brought Kal-El to earth. That's right guys. Beppo is a bona fide Krptonian monkey, which begs the questions, why the hell are these alien monkeys identical to the ones on earth? Does it mean that all of the earth monkeys originally came from Krypton or did the writers just get lazy? More importantly, if that's true, then does that mean humans evolved from Kryptonian monkeys? Boggles the mind.
