20 Worst Ever Comic Book Sidekicks

18. Jason Todd (Batman)

First Appearance: Batman #357 (March 1983) As sidekicks go, Robin is pretty awesome once you get over the tiny green pants, but did you know numerous characters have tried on his cowl over the years? After the original decided to stand on his own two feet as Nightwing, Batman immediately enlisted Jason Todd to be the new Robin because, well, every good hero needs an inferior sidekick right? During his brief tenure, Todd was known as the 'rebel' Robin, which is kind of like saying the 'rebel' Alfred or the bad*ss choirboy, but clearly fans weren't impressed. When DC held a telephone poll to determine Todd's fate, fans cried out for blood and that's the last we saw of him €“ until 2005, when he was resurrected as a villain called Red Hood who Batman then had to bring to justice. Not only did the little blighter fail to take orders, he then defied his mentor completely by becoming a full-blown villain. Ain't nobody got time for dat, especially Batman!
