5 Reasons Marvel & Fox Shouldn't Make An Avengers vs X-Men Movie

3. There Are Just Too Many Characters

Sure, AvX was utterly kick-ass. It chaotically combined more Marvel superheroes than you can spin a web at, all under one roof, where they usually beat each other to a bloodily impossible pulp. And there was some kiddie pool depth to the storyline €” I enjoyed the Black Panther/Storm rift and the inclusion of the mythical K'un Lun from Iron Fist mythos in particular. But therein lies the obscurity. Both Black Panther and Iron Fist are two of my favorite characters in the Marvel Universe, but they've never been addressed on film (which is reprehensible, if you're asking me). And they play a key role in the series. Their two homelands €” Wakanda and K'un Lun, respectively €” are backdrops for some of the series' most memorable scenes. But who outside of a comic convention's heard of K'un Lun and Wakanda? Characters have baggage. That's why we watch movies and read comic books. That baggage makes good drama. But it's damn near impossible to unpack baggage and establish characters like Giant Man, Magik, The Watcher, Legion, Vision, or Ms. Marvel when nobody's ever heard of them (we'll encounter this later at no. 1. ).
