5 Reasons Why Batman: Zero Year Won't Disappoint

4. It Will Provide A More Fluid New 52 Continuity

new52 Anyone who€™s been reading comics since before the launch, new readers and people coming back to comics after a lay off period have all noted that the more you think about the New 52€™s continuity the messier it gets. It was the reboot that wasn€™t a reboot. A clean slate that didn€™t erase everything. Thus a lot of titles suffer from what I€™ve taken to calling a €œpick and choose€ continuity. Some things that happened prior to the relaunch are still cannon, some are not, and some say they aren€™t but then certain events don€™t make sense if that is the case (looking at you, Tim Drake). So with Zero Year and the upcoming Batman and Superman books hopefully a clearer picture starts to get painted regarding the inhabitants of the New 52 universe. In the New 52 universe Bruce Wayne has only been donning the cape and cowl for around five years. There are burning questions regarding Batman€™s allies and foes if you think about the events that have happened; Dick Grayson has already served as Robin and gone on to become Nightwing; Jason Todd has succeeded Grayson, died, and been resurrected; Tim Drake€well who the hell knows what they€™re doing with Tim Drake; and how did Bruce Wayne have a 10 year old son/why would the al Ghuls have paid him any attention prior to being Batman? Opportunities also present themselves to extend beyond just the Caped Crusader, remember the mini uproar about Barbara Gordon being healed of her paralysis due to experimental surgery? Well the New 52€™s chain of events are happening just three years after The Killing Joke. It€™s another one of those things that at first elicits a reaction of, €œOh, okay.€ Then one starts to ponder and construct a timeline, and the reaction is more of a €œGoddamnitsomuch!€
