5 Reasons Why Batman: Zero Year Won't Disappoint

3. You Won't Have To Add Another Book To Your Pull List

From what I€™ve seen this one is where some readers are a bit divided. On one hand, it€™s not like DC is printing a new Batman book (well aside from Batman 66, but that€™s an entirely different article). When it was first announced I thought it was going to be a new book altogether, not a year long story arc in the main Batman title, and was apprehensive as well. Then they said that Scott Snyder was writing it and I was in.

Snyder is already beginning to wade into Grant Morrison territory, not in terms of how he tells stories, or fantastical Morrison-esque depictions of the Dark Knight, but because his fan base is rapidly expanding and he is getting feverish devotees. This brings with it the naysayers, but honestly, Snyder is one of the most enthusiastic writers to ever scribe Batman.

Aside from the recent Clayface mini-arc, this man just doesn€™t do small stories, and has said numerous times in the past that his approach to writing Batman is thinking to himself that this is the only story that he will ever get to write. As a result, the man is constantly looking to outdo himself, and he cherishes Year One just as much as the rest of us. Combine that admiration for Frank Miller€™s quintessential origin tale, along with the devotion to his craft, and your apprehensions to Scott Snyder writing a new origin for Batman should quickly fade.
