5 Things The 90's Taught Us About Comics

4. Massive Crossovers Can Get Annoying

When it comes to crossovers I'll admit that Panic In The Sky, X-Cutioner€™s Song, and Knightfall were huge achievements, and Death Of Superman is the reason I read comics. But when DC started doing their 5th week crossovers I started to get agitated, and then the crossovers got bigger and started bleeding over into every single title in the universe. The flow of my favourite book Starman seemed to be interrupted trying to fit the editorial demand to participate, but luckily James Robinson weathered the storm and was able to complete his story. These days you have Flashpoint, a million variations of Crisis, Blackest Night, and so many more stories that spin off and bleed into other books and it would be difficult to follow the entire story without spending a mint. I for one can€™t keep up. Consider this - how much would it cost to own the entirety of Blackest Night? The answer would surely be obscene.
