5 Things The 90's Taught Us About Comics

5. Death Is Temporary

I won€™t be the first and I won€™t be the last to say this. The following people should be dead and stay dead: Bucky, Gwen Stacy, Barry Allen, and Jason Todd, and I€™m enough of a 90€™s kid that I could deal with Hal Jordan and Oliver Queen staying dead too. But somewhat typically, everybody on that little list apart from Gwen came back to life. Oh, and Gwen had twins with Norman Osborn. Wait, what? We had a good thing going with Wally West and Kyle Rayner until Geoff Johns showed up and decided to resurrect everyone; Jason Todd came back to life because Superboy Prime punched time or something; and Alex Ross once said we could realistically be on our 4th or 5th Batman by moving on with the story. Dead used to mean dead, but now dead is simply a sales pitch to wait a few months to resurrect someone. Don€™t get me wrong - I love comics and I always will, but sometimes it gets a little frustrating. Am I alone on this? Have I turned into Comic Book Guy? Do you like the New 52 and the idea of Marvel Now? Let me know what you think in the comics below...
