6 Comics With Incredibly Unique Art (That You Probably Haven't Read)

5. Bedlam

Bedlam reads like you are in the darkness of the main character's mind. Drawn in a scratchy, and quite frankly insane, style, Bedlam captures the true insanity of the protagonist well.

Following the story of Madder Red, a serial killing supervillain turned reformed vigilante, Bedlam displays its nature front and centre. The flashback scenes, showing Madder's villainous actions and his path to redemption are drawn in black and white, save only for the colour red. This allows two things to stand out: one, his truly terrifying mask; and two, the blood of his victims. (Believe me, there's a lot of it.)

Even in the scenes set post his rehabilitation, the artwork is the same scratchy style that artist Riley Rossmo revels in. This gives the reader the distinct impression that something still is not right.

While this comic may not be for the truly faint of heart (cat lovers in particular may wish to avoid), Bedlam is a true testament to how art style and story can blend together to create something truly powerful.
