3. Guardians of the Galaxy - Brian Michael Bendis and Steve McNiven
Brian Michael Bendis must be one of the busiest writers working in the comics industry today. As well as writing
All-New X-Men and
Uncanny X-Men, and Marvel's latest event
Age of Ultron as well as continuing his work on
Ultimate Spider-Man, Brian Michael Bendis recently took a new approach to Star-Lord and his team of space heroes in the pages of
Guardians of the Galaxy. The series got to a brilliant start in #0, which acted as an origin story for Peter Quill (Star-Lord). This was an incredible issue that set the bar for the rest of the series, and the following issues did not disappoint. We're only a few issue into
Guardians of the Galaxy, but so far the series has been a lot of fun. Bendis' writing provides great chemistry between characters whilst McNiven's astonishing artwork sets a beautiful tone for the series. Paired together, the two have created a fascinating world that is expanding and amazing even more with every issue. Catch up with this sleeper hit by reading
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1: Cosmic Avengers when it's released July 2013.
