7 Additional Characters From Guardians Of The Galaxy Comics That Need To Be Part Of Future Movies

2. Adam Warlock/Magus

Bring Adam Warlock into the Guardians of the Galaxy movie universe and you end up getting two characters for the price of one, since it€™s only a matter of time before the powerful hero reverts to his dark future self, Magus. First created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1967, Warlock rose to prominence in the mid-1970s under the direction of Jim Starlin, one of the true Godfathers of the Marvel cosmic universe. Under Stalin, Warlock hooked up with Gamora and did battle with Thanos. His presence in a Guardians movie franchise would be a nice gesture to Marvel€™s original cosmic fanbase, as Starlin's Warlock/Magus storyline is considered an all-time classic arc from the 1970s. In terms of his connection to the Guardians comics, Warlock is a founding member of the new Guardians during the Dan Abnett/Andy Lanning run. An extraordinarily powerful hero who uses an almost endless source of "magic" for the force of good, he does eventually lose control and becomes his dark future half, the even more powerful Magus. In one heartbreaking scene in the comics, Magus wipes out nearly half of the Guardians (including Gamora) during the course of a battle. After pretending to be killed by Star-Lord by manipulating time and reality, Magus recuperates and launches another attack on the remaining Guardians, making him one tough customer to eliminate.
