7 Comic Book Storylines That Would Make Epic Movies

7. Civil War

Source / Marvel Comics Despite its controversy, Civil War would make one heck of a film. As is, the groundwork has already been laid within The Avengers. Cap and Iron Man are clearly not best buddies, and the end of the film even hints at something similar to the Civil War happening on screen in the near future. While this is true, they've got the Infinity Gauntlet arc and Thanos to get through. So chances of seeing the Civil War in either Avengers 2: Age of Ultron or even Avengers 3, are slim. Until then, it's fun to speculate about how a live-action version of the infamous Mark Millar tale would be handled on-screen. You've got the major players from the story in place. Steve vs Tony is clearly the main event, and it doesn't take much prodding to buy that the movie versions could come to blows very quickly. Outside of that, you can use it to introduce film audiences to the New Warriors, and potentially set the stage for a cinematic version of the Planet Hulk storyline. Mark Ruffalo has been talking recently about playing the character in a new film, and with the Hulk's on-screen solo career being less than stellar at the box office, Planet Hulk might give him new life. Civil War also gives fans the one thing we can all agree on. Superheroes fighting each other is cool. Really cool. It's no secret that fans love it when their two favorite heroes start smashing each other in the face. Evidence of this exists in the Avengers film, with the spectacular fan favorite sequence of Thor fighting Iron Man. The 12-year old in all of us take just a little bit of joy when good guys fight. It's the oldest geek question in the book. Civil War could answer it.
