7 Comic Book Storylines That Would Make Epic Movies
6. Shadowland
I've said for years that the Hand are an underrated villain in the Marvel universe. And in 2010's Shadowland event, they took the center stage in a story that featured Daredevil and just about every other street-level hero on the roster. As someone who is very fond of all of these characters, this one in particular is one I'd love to see. Though the Hand were featured in the disappointing Elektra spin-off film from 2005, they have never truly been given the chance to shine. And while it seems as though Daredevil on film is a no-no anymore, there's one big way to make this happen. Some time ago, Marvel and Disney announced a partnership with Netflix where they would produce four live-action shows based on their characters for the streaming service. Much like House of Cards and Orange is The New Black, these shows are presumed to launch with all the episodes of a season available for the binge-watching crowd. One of the shows announced for the line-up is Daredevil. While it still prohibits some characters, such as Spider-Man, from being involved, the Netflix series could be the best way to do Shadowland. The urban, down to Earth story would potentially be very affordable on a TV-sized budget. Its ongoing, multi-part nature is also very attractive for an episodic format. Ultimately, it allows you to continue the Marvel Cinematic Universe trend of heroes coming together and making cameos in different films and tv shows. Split across a season as an ongoing story arc, it could easily be weaved in and out of the other shows planned, as well as any of the Marvel films that you choose. The Netflix shows have unlimited potential in allowing you to tell any kind of story you please.
