8 Alternate Versions Of Comic Book Characters That Would Be Perfect On-Screen

5. Deathstroke (Journey's End)

Joker Batman Who Laughs
DC Comics

Deathstroke is a criminally underutilized character in live-action. His only appearance on the silver screen was in the Justice League post credits scene and he's only made television appearances on Arrow and Titans.

Film absolutely has a place for an enhanced assassin with a code. And to differentiate him from Jason Bourne, a filmmaker could adapt the story from Deathstroke the Terminator Annual Vol 1 #3. This follows a world where humans created a mutant species called the Genetix that eventually wiped most of them out. In this worst-case scenario, Deathstroke spends his time hunting the Genetix until he comes across a band of human survivors.

Deathstroke as a solitary survivor in a mutant apocalypse already has the beginnings of a fantastic pitch. Plus this genre is flexible. It can either be a frenetic "28 Days Later" type thriller or a slower western that delves into Deathstroke's complex morals.
