8 Best Times X-Men Joined The Avengers

6. Havok

Uncanny Avengers Captain America Wolverine
Marvel Comics

When Captain America and Thor approach Alex Summers to join what would come to be known as the Uncanny Avengers, the Marvel-Verse is in a terrible state.

Charles Xavier is dead, killed by a Phoenix Force infused Cyclops in one of the most powerful moments in the company's history, and his brother initially has no real interest in teaming up with them or anybody.

In fact, if it wasn't for the sudden appearance of Avalanche, who starts tearing up streets and murdering people left, right, and center, there's a very good possibility he would've just drunk his cup of coffee and gone about his day.

But it's that act, followed by a stranger hugging him and telling him there aren't enough heroes in the world after they save the day, that convinced Havok that his future was with the Avengers.

It later turned out that the Red Skull had stolen Professor X's body, removed his brain, and inserted it in himself, with the intention of using his new mutant power to take over the world. Without Havok, it's doubtful the Avengers would've prevailed in their hour of need.
