8 Best Times X-Men Joined The Avengers

Wolverine has been in and around the Avengers now for about the past fourteen years. He joins when the team goes to the Savage Land, sparking a decade's long association with Earth's Mightiest Heroes and somehow managing to find time for the X-Men, his own comic, and numerous other spin-offs along the way.

The ol' Canuck has also seen some of the best storylines in recent Avengers history as well, including The Sentry, Civil War, and Secret Invasion as just three examples.

Even though his initial inclusion is met with resistance by Captain America, and by himself to the degree that Tony Stark pays him a rather hefty sum of money to agree to sign on, over time the two come to a mutual understanding and respect, with Cap realizing that he needs someone on his side who's willing to do what the others aren't.

Wolverine's loyalty is torn during the war between the two factions, but he is and always will be a proud member of the Avengers, even if he's off doing other things at various points.
