8 Comics Famous Comic Creators Don't Want You To Know About

5. Kick-Ass/Kingsman's Mark Millar (The Unfunnies)

The Killing Joke
Millarworld

Mark Millar created Kick-Ass, a series which came under fire during the making of the second movie for its rape scene. He said it was just a thing he puts into comics. Which is true, as another comic he wrote involves a brother being forced to impregnate his sister whose womb is then wired to explode if an abortion is performed. It seems there's nothing that he wouldn't be comfortable putting into a comic.

But even Mark Millar had to draw the line somewhere, and that line was drawn at The Unfunnies. This series is about a bunch of newspaper comic strip-esque characters as their world gets darker and weirder, being infiltrated by dark forces such as adultery, murder, rape, incest, and death.

It turns out this is because their world was created by a child rapist and murderer on death row who is using the comic to escape his conviction and switch places with one of the cartoon characters. It is as harsh and bleak and messed up as it sounds.

While originally saying it was his best work, he has since distanced himself from it, hiding it on his websites, and not mentioning it when he discusses his previous work.
