8 Comics Famous Comic Creators Don't Want You To Know About

4. Spawn's Todd McFarlane (Angela)

The Killing Joke
Image Comics

Todd McFarlane is known for his striking and dark artwork. He's a visionary comic book artist, but not the best writer. While he can redesign Venom into the character we know and love, and create Spawn - a character with upwards of three hundred comics - he can't exactly write them, something he learned early into his career.

He brought some writers in to contribute to Spawn, one of them being Neil Gaiman. Gaiman created a character named Angela, a woman from Heaven who hunted the HellSpawn, and would later become an intrinsic part of the Spawn canon. After this one issue, the two reunited on an Angela miniseries.

However, McFarlane and Gaiman got into a fight over who owned Angela that ended with them in court, Gaiman getting the rights to Angela, and handing them over to Marvel, the company McFarlane left to create Spawn. Since then, finding the Angela miniseries has been near impossible task.
