8 Comics Famous Comic Creators Don't Want You To Know About

2. 300/Sin City's Frank Miller (Big Guy And Rusty The Boy Robot)

The Killing Joke
Dark Horse Comics

Frank Miller is best known for his dark and edgy work, such as Sin City - a book that practically reinvents the term "noir", 300, and Batman: Year One, a direct inspiration for Batman Begins. But he's been a comic writer for a long time and at one point, he broke off and wrote something quite a bit different.

Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot is pretty much what it sounds like. The tale of a Big Guy and a boy robot (think Astro Boy, but American) who get together and fight against giant attacking monsters and robots. And no, there's no twist - it wasn't dark, it wasn't edgy, it was just popcorn fluff, leading to a Fox Kids cartoon adaptation.

Later, Frank Miller would write a comic book about Batman punching Al Qaeda in the face, so it's good to know this wasn't an abberration.
