8 Reasons Why Marvel Really Is Better Than DC
1. Encouraging DC (Via Competition)
This may come as a surprise to those expecting an article that ruthlessly dunks on DC, but it's not without credence to say that one of the best things that Marvel do is to encourage DC to do bigger and better things - much like the same could be said in reverse for DC encouraging Marvel.
While fans are easily divided over which company is 'better', it tends to be forgotten that one of the main reasons both have evolved so dynamically and decisively is because of having to outstep the competition; and with DC and Marvel being the two main bastions of the comics industry, it stands that each has inadvertently improved their rival.
Without Marvel's prodding, there's a very real chance that DC would not have come leaps and bounds in making more compelling and clever stories, and as such, it does make sense to say that it can be considered one of the factors in DC's current status.
Adversity is a gift, we suppose - meaning comics fans on both sides of the aisle should be thankful for the Marvel/DC rivalry. Without it, it's possible the superhero genre wouldn't be what it is today.
