8 Reasons You're Wrong About Hawkeye

3. He Genuinely Means A Lot To Fans

Since making his way into public view in 2012, Hawkeye has often been seen as an outsider compared to the rest of the Avengers. Jokingly, anyone who actually considers the character as their 'favourite Avenger' tends to run into a bit of stick, but there is something genuine behind the love for Clint Barton, even if it isn't always depicted on screen.

For starters, since his remodelling as the Avengers' 'everyman', Clint has managed to develop an entirely different kind of appeal. Of course all members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes are relatable in their own unique way, but Barton offers something different altogether, coming into the team as a man with unique gifts determined to make a difference.

There's also something else to consider as well. For decades now, Clint Barton has been depicted as a deaf man who uses hearing aids in everyday scenarios. Since this aspect of the character has been made more prominent, many comic book readers with disabilities have latched onto him, highlighting Hawkeye as one of the few prominent superheroes to have a disability, and illustrating one of the many positive impacts representation can make.

Frustratingly, this is an aspect of the character that's yet to make its way into the MCU. Here's hoping that changes come Avengers: Endgame.
