8 Terrifying Interpretations Of Comic Book Villains

5. Wilson Fisk - Daredevil

Sentinel X-Men Days of Future Past

Wilson Fisk, AKA Kingpin, is one of the more intimidating villains of Marvel's comics, despite not having any superpowers at all. Fisk is terrifying in another way. He's not a supervillain with some grand purpose, he's a gangster, a thug who won't hesitate to kill anyone who stands in his way.

While there have been a number of interpretations of Kingpin - Michael Clarke Duncan in the 2003 Daredevil, Liev Schreiber's animated mountain in Into the Spider-Verse and Travis Willingham's tutorial boss in Spider-Man for the PS4 to name a few - but none come quite as close to showing Kingpin's ferocity than Vincent D'Onofrio's interpretation in Netflix's Daredevil.

Fisk in Daredevil is violent, quick to anger, and incredibly intimidating. Any man who can knock Matt Murdock out in one punch is a foe that you don't want to dice with.

All of this violence doesn't display exactly why Fisk is quite so scary, though. Beyond his rage and his strength, Fisk is incredibly intelligent. He knows exactly how to take over Hell's Kitchen, which he does with incredible ease in Daredevil's first season.

Fisk is a fearsome foe in all his interpretations, and D'Onofrio brings out the violent rage and quiet intelligence of the character to show this admirably.
