8 Things We Learned From DC's June 2019 Solicitations

5. Bane's Conspiracy In Batman Finally Comes Together In Batman #72

Tom King's Batman may have had its ups and downs since the anti-climax of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle's wedding, but when it's good, it is so. Damn. Good.

The series has picked up once again in recent weeks, with the Question continuing his resurge on the page by appearing in Batman #66, and it finally looks as though the twist from The Wedding is finally going to pay off. Issues 70 kicks off The Fall and the Fallen arc, while Batman #72 seems to have it all. The comic is slated to release June 5, and from the looks of things, will feature Bane enacting his master plan properly.

"s this the end of Gotham City? Bane’s army of villains is taking over the city, and Batman’s back is against the wall. With all the things Bane has done to him over the last year—from breaking up his wedding to trying to assassinate Nightwing, and then invading Batman’s mind to expose his most terrible fears—could this be the worst hate the Caped Crusader has ever encountered?"

Again, King's Batman has been a bit of a slow burn at times, but when it gets going, you'd struggle to find a comic as inventive or as compelling as it on the stands. It continues to push boundaries with the character, so here's hoping Batman #72 continues that trend come June.
