8 Times Wolverine Died In The Comics

One of the stranger demises of Wolverine came back in the late 80's, after the X-Men were captured by an alien warlord known as Horde. Donning a shard of the Crystal of Ultimate Vision on his head, Horde was effectively immortal, with super strength as well as the ability to teleport and manipulate objects at a molecular level.

Wanting the rest of the crystal's power, Horde forced the captured X-Men to travel to the Citadel of Light and Shadow to retrieve the object of his desires.

Upon approaching the crystal however, Horde ambushed Wolverine, incapacitating him with a javelin before ripping his beating heart from his chest, hoping to keep it as a trophy.

Although this killed Wolverine, he didn't stay dead for very long as a drop of his blood landed on the crystal, giving Wolverine the energy to restore himself with new god-like powers. Tearing the crystal shard out of Horde's head, the villain rapidly aged before eventually turning to dust, Indiana Jones style.
