9 Classic Marvel Characters The Punisher Has Killed
8. The Kingpin
Punisher MAX is basically to Frank Castle what Old Man Logan is to Wolverine. It's darker, gritter, and tells the story of an aged version of the vigilante, who's still erasing the criminal element from Marvel's underworld in his final days.
The R-rated series, which takes place outside of mainline continuity, sees an alternate version of The Kingpin make his final stand against Castle. After pitting Bullseye and Elektra against his enemy and watching them die by his hand, Wilson Fisk must face up to the prospect of a one on one showdown with Punisher.
It's a close contest, and at one point, it looks like victory might go to Kingpin. Castle has suffered a beatdown and the coup de grace is about to follow, but a swift bullet to the back of the head abruptly ends Fisk's stranglehold on New York.
Although MAX takes place in a more realistic Marvel Universe sans superheroes, Fisk and Punisher have crossed paths on countless occasions in canon comic books, as well as season two of Daredevil, with memorable results.
