9 Fantastic Daredevil Comic Runs

6. Daredevil: Father

Joe Quesada's love letter to Jack and Matt Murdock is an emotional powerhouse, wrapped up in a multi-layered, hyper-styled vendetta against the senses. With explosive, bright, and exaggerated art (Quesada is on both writing and drawing duties), this is a story slightly in the vein of Jeph Loeb's The Long Halloween, featuring Daredevil tracking down both a serial killer in Hell's Kitchen during the hottest days of the summer and a new set of vigilantes that have come to take Hell's Kitchen for themselves. Combine that with the added law case of a woman suing an electric company for giving her cancer, along with a sudden resurgence of memories of Matt's father Jack, and it's a Marvel mystery that proves to be truly unforgettable. Great characters, great art, great writing, and a powerful final few pages, Father certainly has the whole shebang and continues to be a favorite for those who love all things Daredevil. Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
