6. Buried KGBeast Alive (Ten Nights Of The Beast)

The KGBeast was an assassin sent by the Soviet Union in a 1988 comic to kill, amongst other key figures, President Ronald Reagan. Batman stepped in to stop the villain but was outmatched by him in their first few encounters.

In issue #420, the Dark Knight destroyed KGBeast's signature arm gun and led him down in to the sewers. The pair came to a dead end and KGBeast challenged the hero to a final battle whilst wielding a lead pipe. Instead of stepping up to the challenge, Batman simply explain that he couldn't be bothered - especially when there was no need to risk his life.

He then walked out of the room they were in, shut the door and blocked it closed with a large pile of wooden planks, leaving the villain to die of starvation - essentially burying him alive in the sewers.
